Welcome to Ivan Franko HomesIvan Franko Homes are named after one of Ukraine’s most influential poets and philosophers. They are owned and operated by the Ukrainian Home for the Aged, which was founded in 1957 as a not-for-profit seniors’ care organization serving Canadians of Ukrainian descent. We are proud to provide both independent and assisted living accommodations in Toronto and Mississauga for approximately 160 seniors. They reside in professionally staffed, caring and picturesque environments featuring Ukrainian language, cuisine and culture.
In 2013, our commitment to the highest quality care standards was recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International) through our receiving a three-year accreditation, the longest period possible for an initial designation for retirement and care centres. In May 2016 the Ivan Franko Homes were awarded accreditation for another 3 years.
Guided by our Ukrainian heritage and culture, we strive to provide high quality care and accommodations for Ukrainian-Canadian seniors in an environment where they can spend their retirement years with dignity within a Ukrainian cultural community.
Our two Homes are responsible for assisting each resident to be as independent as possible by offering moral, community and physical support as needed.
We provide a cultural environment conducive to the health and well being of our residents through engaged, caring and professional employee-partners who pursue personally rewarding long-term careers.
