One of the primary goals of Ivan Franko Home is to provide the best quality of life possible for residents, and ensure that they are supported through their life transitions, as care needs change - that is, to provide care for life.

Recognizing both the value of life and the natural process of death, our Home will provide a resident-centred palliative approach and end-of-life care to every resident when it benefits them most.

A palliative approach to care focuses on comfort and quality of life, addresses pain and symptom management, and physical, psychological, spiritual, and emotional support. 

Palliative care is active care, involving more attention to individuals and families, more monitoring, more physical care, and more psychological support due to evolving nature of illness and changing needs.

Our focus is on anticipating the individual's likely needs so that the right care can be provided at the right time.
